Propecia and Finestride Law Suite

A lawsuit has been filed in the Canadian courts in regards to the serious side effects of Propecia, which can leave a user feeling devastated with permanent side effects.

Thousands of men have used the Propecia (finestride 1 mg) for combating male pattern baldness since its approval in 1997.

A lawsuit has been filed in Canada alleging serious Propecia side effects including sexual dysfunction, such as erectile dysfunction, loss of libido, decreased semen out put, difficulty in cognitive processing and memory loss.

The lawsuit, filed in the Supreme Court of British Columbia, alleges Propecia side effects in men can have a devastating and permanent impact on patients, unfortunately the extent of the side effects wasn’t truthfully specified to patients.

Merck claimed that some of the Propecia side effects would “go away” upon its discontinuation of the drug, but this has not been the case for many.

The Propecia lawsuit in Canada was filed by Michael Miller, who says he was prescribed Proscar (another brand name for Propecia) because of hair loss. According to his lawsuit, the plaintiff allegedly lost interest in sex and suffered from anxiety. Although he reportedly stopped using Proscar, the plaintiff said his symptoms have not gone away.

A lawsuit has also been filed in the US alleging Propecia side effects including sexual dysfunction and mental and emotional symptoms.

Amongst the symptoms linked to Propecia and Fines rtide are anxiety, memory loss, difficulty breathing and concentration. With Finasteride sexual side effects have also been reportedly which include decreased libido and erectile dysfunction.

In June, 2012, the United States District Court for the Eastern District of New York appointed Propecia Lawsuits team of attorneys to help lead the national effort to prosecute Propecia (Merck).

Propecia sides effects

In August 2011, Health Canada issued a warning that Propecia was potentially linked to an increased risk of male breast cancer. Even though Health Canada said it had received reports of male breast cancer linked to the use of Proscar, it noted that reports of male breast cancer globally were linked to both Proscar and Propecia., Health Canada has also announcedthat Propecia has not been proven to cause breast cancer but that the possibility could not be ruled out at this moment until further studies.

A study recently published in the Journal of Sexual Medicine reportedly found a link between the use of Propecia (finasteride) and sexual dysfunction. According to the study, which reviewed data from clinical trials, up to 15 percent of men who used Propecia suffered sexual dysfunction, compared with around 7 percent of men who used a placebo.

Proscar and Propecia known as Finestride

Propecia (known generically as finasteride) and Proscar are prescribed as a cosmetic treatment for male pattern baldness also known as androgenic alopecia. Propecia can also be used to treat problems linked to an enlarged prostate.
